I it bought for $600, and drove for about a year, but only after sinking about $4000 into it....  It may have been big, red, and ugly, but I loved that heap.....  :-)

 

The second was my wife's 1980 Wagoneer, "Blue Velvet", that we bought for $3100 off of eBay, and was by far one of the cleanest FSJs I've ever encountered....

 

She then sold the Wagoneer after it became evident that it would not be cost effective to take it to Germany with us due to a lot of minor repairs that needed to be done.....  And then she bought our current '81 Cherokee, "Gilgamesh", aka "BlackJack", which is even cleaner and in better condition than "Blue Velvet".....
